Brits are due to waste upwards of £800million this Christmas on presents that are unwelcomed, unconsidered and unsurprising.

As we look to spend a minimum of £103.65 per person on gifts this Christmas, the new report by forest adventure company, Go Ape, has identified that we could be wasting up to 12 percent of this as we don’t think hard enough about the gifts that we choose. Over half (55%) of parents admitted that they found it difficult to find presents that would engage children past the Christmas holidays – let alone their partners! 

So how bad are our worst gift choices? Go Ape’s research has identified the worst presents of 2014, which included household appliances (16%), household cleaning products (16%), socks (15%) and supermarket vouchers (5%). Check out the 10 worst presents of 2014 below:
