They might be hard pushed to get out of bed before noon, but put forward the idea of charging students more for tuition and they’ll march on your ass, and rightly so.
The protest has been organised by the NUS (National Union of Students) for today to coincide with a demonstration over the funding of education.
They will be the first student marches in the capital since 2010 when the city was rocked by several protests which saw many arrests and injuries, and which led to debate of the police’s use of kettling as a crowd-control tactic.
