This hilarious video, now viewed over a million times, shows a Smartphone owner teasing his pet frog with the Ant Crusher game on his Android handset.
Froggy plays well, but soon gets frustrated with the game as he’s not getting much satisfaction with his pixelated snacks. As the unseen owners hand hovers close to the screen, the frog leaps up and gets a mouthful of tasty thumb.
In a strange twist to the story, and a tip of the hat to a classic arcade game from the 1980’s, this particular ambitious amphibian is known as a Pacman frog. The species is also known as the Argentine wide-mouthed frog or South American horned frog.
They’re a naturally greedy creature, keen on insects and even small mammals like mice. So a fresh human thumb would probably go down nicely, especially when computer-generated ants fail to satisfy.
