Safe, the Capital FM breakfast show newsreader, was walking though Birmingham’s Mailbox shopping centre, distracted by her phone so much so that she didn’t see the end of the pavement ahead of her and the start of the canal, mistaking the ice of the water for the concrete.
She tumbled in to the water, and was pulled out by passing hero Neil Edgerton.
