Pete Doherty has claimed in an interview that the police have footage that would clear him of being involved in the death of a young man who fell from the balcony at a party after a row with the singer.
Doherty has said in an interview with the NME that he believes that the police have CCTV footage that shows Mr Blanco fell 'unassisted' to his death from a first-floor balcony in east London in 2006.
CCTV footage shows Doherty stepping over Mr Blanco’s body and then fleeing the scene with friends and with his minder Johnny ‘Headlock’ Jeannevol.
Doherty said in the interview that Mr Blanco’s family would “never be happy unless the police release the footage that show him falling unassisted. I know that they have got that.”
Mr Blanco’s mother Sheila though has spoken of about Mr Doherty’s comments, describing them as a "pathetic" PR stunt to get attention ahead of his solo album.
