Lady Gaga has gone from wearing meat to serving it to customers – not personally – at her newly opened New York family-aimed restaurant but the grub’s been panned by a food critic for being “overpriced” and “unspeakably fatty”.

New York Post food critic Steve Cuzzo slammed the new joint, Joanne Trattoria, which opened on Wednesday and is backed by Gaga and run by her parents.

He berated the restaurant for its staff, who had little clue as to what they should be doing, and the long wait for food – 50mins for his veal osso bucco.

The backlash has begun though with Cuzzo been admonished in some corners for reviewing a restaurant on its opening night, at which Gaga herself was not present.

He has replied though that his review is valid and defensible due to the amount of publicity Gaga and her parents had undertaken in the run up to the opening.
