Christian Bale copped criticism for being uncooperative with media in London recently, but he’s showed his heart’s in the right place by visiting victims of the Aurora shooting.
The Dark Knight Rises star popped into the Medical Centre of Aurora to chat with those injured when a gunman opened fire in a local theatre screening the final instalment of Christopeher Nolan’s Batman trilogy.
Bill Voloch, interim president Centre told the Denver Post: "The patients were really happy to meet Bale. They are obviously big fans of his movies. They wanted to see Batman and were really pleased to see Bale.
"It was good for the patients. We hope it was therapeutic for them, and all the staff really appreciated him coming."
Warner Bros said the actor was their of his own accord, and was not representing the studio.
"Words cannot express the horror that I feel,” Bale said via a statement on the weekend.. “I cannot begin to truly understand the pain and grief of the victims and their loved ones, but my heart goes out to them.”
The actor, who won a 2011 best supporting actor Oscr for his role in The Fighter, also visited a makeshift memorial set up near the cinema where the tragedy occurred.
