Proof that crime really does not pay. A group of five prospective car thieves got more than they bargained for when they tried to steal the Range Rover belonging to Amir Khan and his boxer brother Haroon.
The brothers were in Birmingham for a night out when they returned to their vehicle – a £100,000 Range Rover – in the early hours of the morning, at which point a gang of five men blocked their path and tried to rob them.
One of the wannabe carjackers lashed out at Amir - the former world champion and Olympic silver medallist reportedly knocked him out cold.
The other five men then rounded on the two brothers from Bolton only for Amir and Haroon to surprise them by doing more than fighting back.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “They [the Khans] stood their ground and these guys got dropped one by one.”
Police had been called out after reports of a fight but, unsurprisingly, no one had come forward to make a complaint.
