Disgruntled Blackburn Rovers fans showed their dismay at their team’s performances this season at last night’s home game against Wigan Athletic by letting loose a chicken draped in the club’s colours.
The poultry pitch invader strode n to the turf at Ewood Park last night wrapped in a Blackburn FC club flag in protest at the club’s owners, Indian poultry processing company Venky’s.
Blackburn lost the game 1-0 to a 89th minute Wigan goal, condemning the north west England football club to relegation from the premier league after an 11 year stay in England’s top tier.
Protests, which have been commonplace at Ewood Park this season towards both the Venky’s and manager Steve Kean, continued throughout the game, with fans invading the pitch at the final whistle to confront their manager and show their dissatisfaction at the way their team has performed.

They will now join Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Championship next season, with either QPR or Bolton claiming the third relegation spot.
