Christian hotel owners may take gay couple to Supreme Court

Peter and hazelmary Bull refused to offer a room to Steven Preddy and Martyn Hall in 2008 and judges have twice ruled that the hotel-owning couple broke equality laws.

Mrs Bull said: “I feel that the law has gone too far. Pete and I are ready to see if we can achieve some sort of result whereby two lifestyles can live alongside each other.”

The couple say that their policy extends to all non-married couples and not just to same-sex couples, and the Christian Institute has said that it backs the Bulls’ case.

However, a member of the south west-based charity The Intercom trsust, which supports lesbian, gay and transgender couples, disagrees, saying that the Bulls' action discriminated against civil partnerships.

Judges have ruled twice aleady that the Bulls broke equality laws.
