Take all of the clichés about lady drivers and throw them out the window after a German woman beat four blokes to the title of national car parking champion.
Sabine Langer, 45, a blonde (smashing another stereotype), won a trip to the Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix after competing in her own parking GP.
The contest involved manoeuvring an almost nine-metre limo into a parking spot, blind parking, parking a tricky old three-wheeler and mastering the notorious hassle-heavy Citroen 2CV’s gear stick.
She says her work as an industrial clerk means she drives a lot and njoys the challenge of parking in small bays.
For one task, competitors had to park an articulated lorry, with women in platforms and men wearing heels.
“There are men who say that a woman winning the parking championships would not be possible,” she told Germany’s The Local.
