Signs in New Zealand for ordinary everyday things such as parking restrictions and the like have found themselves damaged by the unwanted attention of prostitutes performing pole dancers on them to attract custom.
“The poles are part of their soliciting equipment and they often snap them,” says Donna Lee, who is an elected member of one of the city council’s local boards.
In the last 18 months alone, more than 40 poles have been buckled, bent and destroyed by ladies of the night who have been flaunting their wares to attract clients.
