A car, being driven by Melanie Minnie, was pulled over – it had six children in the boot and another three in the front of the car.
Nico van Heerden captured pictures of the incident and children squashed in the car, all of which attended Rietfontein nursery school. The Renault Clio was pulled over by the police, who discovered a total of 19 kids in the car.
The photographer said that the children were “excited at first, but after a while they started to get a more worried and cried.”
It’s thought Minnie had already delivered 12 children back to their school from the Spur’s play ground 1km away.
A police woman fined Minnie the equivalent of £100. The car was able to legally seat five adults or one adult and eight toddlers.
“It was the first and the last time that we’ll go on an outing,” said Minnie. “We’re actually a very cute crèche.”
