With the launch scheduled for 12.30pm (GMT), Felix Baumgartner will attempt to break his record for an ascent to earth from the edge of space - falling a distance of 23 miles back to earth.
The Austrian adventurer aims to land in the infamous 'alien site’, the desert landscape of Roswell, in New Mexico, USA. He’s expected to fly through the air at 690mph for approximately 40 seconds.
The incredible feat is being sponsored by Red Bull and follows his 18 mile drop to earth on July 25 this year.
Baumgartner is attempting to become the first man to break the speed of sound in freefall.
"If something goes wrong, the only thing that might help you is God. Because if you run out of luck, if you run out of skills, there is nothing left and you have to really hope he is not going to let you down." told the BBC.
