Smaller tablets have proved popular due to their portability. Also, they’re a lot easier to hold in your hand than a whopping great full sized slab.
“Apple is kind of late to the market with a small tablet. This is the first launch of a product that is all Tim Cooks’ but it is a very crowded arena with prices hard for Apple to meet.” said tech analyst Rob Endele of Enderle Group.
The anticipated 7.85-inch device, thought to be priced around £200 is expected to be unveiled at a launch today at 6pm GMT, where Apple have promised in invitations that they ‘have a little more to show you’.
