It was announced that the post-study work visa scheme was going to be discontinued three months before the family arrived in Scotland.
They had been previously accepted for the scheme back in 2010, moved to the UK in 2011 and not made aware of the changes until 2012.
The couple have been issued with temporary extensions and have the threat of deportation hanging over their heads.
