In addition, Adventure Queenstown Hostel was voted top hostel worldwide in the “Best Location” category, while Bounce Sydney also won as the top-rated hostel in all of Australia.
Bounce Sydney and Home at The Mansion in Melbourne were winners in the ‘most popular hostels’ category for Oceania.
Hostelworld’s CEO, Feargal Mooney, said: “We take great pride that these awards are based solely on the reviews and ratings of guests who have booked, stayed and experienced the hostel – it’s the only fair way to ensure a true and accurate reflection of the hostels’ strengths and weaknesses.”
Now in its twelfth year, the Hoscars are the biggest trade awards programme in the budget accommodation industry. The awards honour the world’s top hostels, as voted for by Hostelworld.com customers.
This year, a total of 264 Hoscars were awarded to winners and nominees around the globe.
The winners were decided by over one million Hostelworld.com customers who stayed in the properties in 2013.
