Cavendish, 27, escaped with just bruising after he ran up the back of a car which had braked suddenly in front of him.

He tweeted last night: “Went & hit the back of a car that slammed on today in training.

“Wasn’t ideal. Apart from a bruised arm, I’m relatively OK. If anyone cares.”

Tour de France winner Wiggins was ran into a car on November 8.

And just hours after Wiggins, Team GB head coach Shane Sutton was in hospital after a similar incident.
