Grindal was happily enjoying the final between Taylor and Kim Huybrechts when he was interrupted by the lively crowd at the Cash Converters Players’ Championship at Butlins, Somerset.
Security was called, as play was interrupted by the chanting. Beardy Grindal, a labourer from Oxfordshire, was visibly upset and tearful, when he was escorted out by security.
As he left the crowd changed their chant to “Stand up if you love Jesus”. Grindal was escorted to a nearby pub where he was bought a pint and finished watching the game.
“I didn’t go to the darts dressed as Jesus – I went as me,” explained Grindal to the Daily Mail.
“I was evicted for something I have no control over. I felt discriminated against.”
