Rum Revolution

While we’re on bars that people can’t stop chattering about, the new Rum Shack underneath Soho’s Floridita is bringing Cuban vibes to the lives of gloom-shy Londoners this month.

With palm trees, neon lighting, rum barrel tables and one of the most extensive rum selections in Europe, it’s sure to bring you some sunshine.

Cocktails for a cause

Feel better about your Saturday night out and go drinking cocktails for a good cause at City eatery Cinnamon Kitchen’s adjoining bar, Anise, on March 9.

There’ll be an auction, pink cocktails and live music, with a voluntary donation on the door going towards the efforts of organiser Jessica Parr, who is fundraising for Breast Cancer Care.

The bar has recently undergone a swish refurbishment and offers spice-infused cocktails and bar snacks with an Indian twist (think Punjabi fish fingers).

The event kicks off at 7.30pm – rock up, drink up, then give yourself a pat on the back.

Tipples with a twist

Everyone seems to be talking about BYOC at the moment, a brand-new cocktail bar in Covent Garden with an innovative twist.

The concept is this: bring your own bottle of spirit, pay £20 on the door and the bartender will mix your drinks for the duration of your two-hour sitting with the help of his fancy mixers trolley (think syrups, juices, spices, herbs, etc).

It’s reservations only, of course, but well worth getting yourself on the list.
