The body of Imperial College student Yen Zhen Anthony Soh was found in Hyde Park’s Serpentine Lake.

The 18 year old reportedly went missing after going out drinking with friends at  at Imperial College student union in South Kensington on the evening of March 22.

His family and friends used social networking sites Facebook and Twitter to launch a search for him.

The body was spotted by a passer-by in the park and recovered from the river by divers on Tuesday afternoon, a spokesperson for Scotland Yard confirmed.

Although not yet formally identified the body is thought to be that of Soh’s with family and friends coming to terms with their loss.

Soh, whose parents live in Gillingham, Kent had apparently drunk six pints before running off without his mobile phone. CCTV footage later showed him near Royal Albert Hall, The Daily Mail reports.

Friends have posted tributes on Facebook in tribute to the teenager.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said the death was not being treated as suspicious.
