The Liberal Democrat mayoral candidate has vowed to make night buses as good as rolling, double decker taxis that will stop at the end of passengers’ roads to improve safety and reduce crime.
Paddick has also promised, if he were elected, that he would introduce policing plans to all major stations and ‘Paddick patrols’ of residents to make journeys home safer too.
The former Met chief’s night bus idea is a nice one for sure, but it is a tad impractical. The night bus takes forever as it is, were it to stop at everyone’s house, essentially, it would take all night to get home. And then there is the inevitable hassle that will be generated by people wanting the bus to stop at inopportune moments.
