Soap star Brian Regan, who played Terry Sullivan in Brookside, has been accused of murder after allegedly shooting a nightclub bouncer in Liverpool.

Bahman Faraji was shot in the head outside a pub on February 24, allegedly by soap star Regan.

Brookside actor Regan has been accused of murder and of perverting the course of justice.

Regan will appear before Liverpool Crown magistrates along with another man, Lee George Dodson, also accused of murder.

Iranian-born Faraji, nicknamed “Batman”, was shot in the head from close range outside the Liverpool pub.

Faraji – who had a scar running down the side of his face – was believed to have Liverpool underworld connections.

A third man, Edward Heffey, 40, is already in custody after being charged with the murder.

Brian Regan was one of the early stars of Brookside, appearing in episode six as the moustachioed Terry Sullivan.

Regan’s character went on to spawn Harry Enfield’s famous ‘Scousers’ comedy sketch.

The actor left Brookside in February 1997.

Brookside fans have expressed their shock that soap star Regan has been accused of murder, with more than one person on Twitter alluding to the famous Harry Enfield characters.
