The best job in the world at the moment is software engineer, according to the research, while lumberjack was deemed the worst. The most stressful job, perhaps unsurprisingly, was enlisted soldier.
By looking at physical demands, work environment, income, stress and hiring outlook, careercast.com compiled its lists.
Of the trials and tribulations of being a lumberjack, the website explained: ”Unemployment for lumberjacks is very high, and the demand for their services is expected to continue to fall through 2016. And while working outside all day may seem like a great job perk, being a lumberjack not only is considered the worst job, but also one of the world’s most dangerous.”
Worse, lumberjacks earn around US$32,000 a year, while those in the world’s best job of software engineer take home an average of US$88,000 per annum.
Other worst jobs included oil rig worker, newspaper reporter, butcher and broadcaster.
Meanwhile, those in the best jobs include dental hygienists, HR managers and online advertising managers.
And which people should you avoid upsetting because they’re getting enough stress at work? Airline pilots, PR executives and taxi drivers are all about ready to explode, according to the research.
