Chris Brown flew into a violent rage when he was questioned about Rihanna on US talk show Good Morning America. The singer is said to have trashed his dressing room and smashed a window before ripping his shirt off and storming down the street.

Brown appeared on Good Morning America yesterday hoping to big up his new album, F.A.M.E. (Forgiving All My Enemies). However things backfired when host Robin Roberts decided to grill Brown on his now infamous bust-up with Rihanna.

In 2009, Brown appeared on the same show to discuss his felony assault arrest after the battering of his then-girlfriend Rihanna.

Yesterday, Roberts decided to go in for the kill again and started grilling Brown about the Rihanna assault.

Appearing steadily more uncomfortable, Brown answered the questions tersely before performing his new single, Yeah 3X. Shortly afterwards he stormed off to his dressing room where his anger at being questioned about Rihanna boiled over.

Network reps reported that the show’s hair and makeup staff called security after hearing “loud noises coming from Brown’s dressing room.”

Brown’s dressing room window was also smashed.

Apparently the 21-year-old entertainer angrily confronted the Good Morning America segment producer.

“This album is what I want them to talk about and not what happened two years ago,” he said.

Brown is still on probation for the Rihanna assault, but ABC said Tuesday that it did not plan to press criminal charges against him.

ABC News defended its questioning of Brown, saying: “As always, we ask questions that are relevant and newsworthy, and that’s what we did in this interview.”

Roberts tweeted after the incident: “Sure has been an interesting AM @GMA. Still sorting thru everything myself.”

Friends said that Brown reacted angrily because he is trying to put the past behind him.

“He’s been trying to move on from his past and focus on his music, and he’s finally putting out an album. Why can’t we focus on that? He makes great music and he loves his fans. He’s a good kid,” quoted a source as saying.

After the incident, Brown blew off steam by joining in a basketball game in Manhattan’s West Village.
