Whilst older children can head to the Kids’ Skate School where ages between 6 and16 will get all the advice and skills needed to become a good skate around the rink.
Alongside these events are also wheelchair skate sessions, and chocolate workshops for all ages to perfect the ideal drinking chocolate.
Every Thursday – 21st December and 4 January at 6.30-9.30 – over the festive period come and sample the delights of mulled wine and champagne whilst enjoying skating at Acoustic Lates at the Ice Rink Café Bar.

Over the other side of town on the Strand, Somerset House, will be opening its doors for keen skaters to show their skills with lots of different themes for people to enjoy.
For children under 8 you can join the Polar Cub Club where they will be guided by accredited instructors and learn their first steps on ice in a fun way.
Meanwhile for the grown-ups you can book one of the guides for lessons to build up your courage to skate the lovely courtyard.
If all this skating makes you feel like indulging in food and drink after, you can pop into Fortnum’s Lodge to enjoy a festive menu ranging from champagne and smoked salmon platter to wine and cheese fondue as well as mince pie and clotted cream.
To walk it off you can pop into the west wing of Somerset House where Fortnum’s Christmas Arcade will tempt you to buy some last minute Christmas presents with Fortnum’s own tea, hampers and gifts for selection.
It also caters for the nighttime crowd, with Skate Lates returning in January, 2018 with a selection of DJs playing such as Super Dupa Fly and former Bombay Bicycle Club frontman, Jack Steadman, spinning tracks.
