WHAT: It’s hard to describe exactly what goes on at a Cirque du Soleil performance; suffice to say that it’s a tripped-out mixture of circus acts and performance art, fusing loopy narrative with pared-back observations about the real world.

DO IT BECAUSE: Basically, it’s unlike any circus you’ve ever been to before – you won’t forget it and Saltimbanco is one of the troupe’s most successful shows, having toured worldwide since 1992. Colourful, mind-bending and spectacular. Worth a look.
