How about going with the wind in your hair, sunshine on your face, and music blasting from the stereo of the guide’s bike next to you? Much better.

Bike2basics is a new company run by Lucy Lynn-Evans, who became passionate about cycling after being run over by a truck left bikes as her only option for comfortable, efficient mobility.

Bike2basics organises biking trips to festivals around the UK and larger jaunts around Europe, with about 10 people per group. And, no, you don’t need to be a contender for the London Olympics cycling team to participate.

The tours are conducted mostly on flat ground at a relaxed pace so that most everybody can handle it.

You don’t even need to worry about your baggage, for £5 they will transport it in a van for you. You do need your own bike (although include a rental service will be available soon) and your own transportation back to London.

Three festival tours are already planned for this summer: Secret Garden Party on July 19. Playgroup Festival on August 3,  and Wilderness Festival on August 10.

Trips cost about £20 each.
