A fantastic opportunity for all aspiring travel photographers to get some snapping support. Flight Centre is inviting people to post their horrific holiday shots online in to a dedicated Flickr gallery for the chance to win some fantastic prizes including photo courses, travel vouchers and a top quality camera courtesy of Dixons Travel.
All aspiring travel snappers can benefit from Flight Centre’s World’s Worst Travel Photographer competition. Entrants don’t just get the chance for crap travel photography immortality, there’ll be YouTube videos from the competition’s judges and online travel photography workshops.
Anyone can enter with a picture and caption. The only rule is they must be travel related. Once the Terrible Taj Mahals, Dodgy Denmarks and Questionable Queenstowns are online, people can vote for the worst crap snap of the week by favouriting that snap on Flickr.
At the end of the competition, shortlisted entries will be put in front of the judging panel, who’ll pinpoint the most pathetic pictures and recommend the wayward snappers for some photographic reform.
Judges are: BBC’s Simon Reeve, Chris Coe, founder of Travel Photographer of the Year, Observer Hodge award winning photographer Anthony Cullen, travel journalist Max Wooldridge and travel photo blogger and iphonography expert Kirsten Alana.
Simon Reeve said: “The main thing I’m going to be looking for when judging the finalists is untapped potential.
“I’ll see that somebody has started to capture the essence of a place or subject but they haven’t quite got it right, somebody who would really benefit from a bit of expert guidance.”
There are two categories – point & shoot camera and mobile. Entrants simply need to send a questionable travel picture and accompanying caption to wwtp@flightcentre.co.uk
