With the 4 day game already in full swing, that takes a break now, as the Royal London Cup, the 50 over one-day competition, starts in April with lots of matches going on into May.

With the competition split into two regions – north/south with the top 4 in each table going into a quarter-final/semi-final stage before the winners going to Lords in July for the title.

Last season, Warwickshire beat Surrey in a thrilling game at Lords.

Lots of players involved in the Royal London Cup and for the few in the IPL in India, will be getting ready for a busy season of international cricket. With the Champions Trophy coming to England this summer, for the first time since 2013, when India defeated England in the final, the hosts have announced their team for the competition and the matches against South Africa who are coming over for a test/one day series.

In the squad is Mark Wood and David Willey. The former, who could be a key figure in English conditions this summer, has struggled with injury for the past 12 months, only making 4 matches with the international team last season.

Yorkshire player, Willey, has been brought back into the fold after struggling with a shoulder injury and will be useful lower order player in his capacity as an all-rounder.
