Getting there

Easyjet flies from London to Athens, Mykonos and Santorini.

Getting Around

Domestic carriers Aegean Airlines and Olympic Airlines  fly between Athens and some islands. Bluestar Ferries and Hellenic Seaways run fast ferries. See

You can pre-book ferries, but you don’t have to.

The online ferry timetables can be confusing, so the best idea is to do some research when planning your trip, to ensure there are ferry connections between your destinations, then wait until you arrive in Greece before you buy tickets.

It’s a good idea to buy your onward ticket as soon as you arrive on an island.

Ferries get busy during summer, so it pays to buy a couple of days in advance.

Be flexible – ferries can be cancelled due to weather and often run late.

Taking a high-speed catamaran is the quickest option.

The slower ferries are normally half the price, but take twice as long.

If you are stretched for time, consider booking a flight from Athens to Santorini or Mykonos at the start of your trip.

You can also fly direct from London to Mykonos and Santorini.
