The spider, which has been named (for obvious reasons) Big Boy, was caught in bushland in Newcastle and handed over to the Australia Reptile Park.

The park encourages the public to catch and send in spiders so it can use them to produce anti-venom. So far 500 spiders have been milked at the park.

Do you think you’ve got what it takes to catch a funnel-web? We’d advise you to get some advice before wrestling with one of these bad boys.
