Paramount Pictures has given the blessing of its name for the project, which is supported by both Dartford and Gravesham Borough Councils.

London Resort Company Holdings is the developer behind the project, which is now searching for further investment.

The site of the park would be located 17 minutes outside of London and just 2 hours from its potential rival, Disneyland Paris. The park could create up to 27,000 jobs, a huge boost for the region’s economy.

Project leader Tony Sefton said, “Over the next 12-18 months we will be progressing the planning application, while embarking on a wide-reaching programme of community consultation, while securing further commercial agreements with third parties.”

The park would be home to Europe’s “largest” indoor water park, theatres, music venues, hotels, and a Hollywood inspired theme park.

Sefton hopes to open the site in 2018.
