Trump – who flirted with the idea of nominating himself as a Republican candidate early in the electoral piece – had what can best be described as a complete meltdown on Twitter when he saw that the writing was on the wall and Obama, the Democratic candidate would serve his second term as President.
Donald’s initial reaction to the defeat of Republican candidate Mitt Romney on Twitter was all rather reserved, “Oh well, back to the drawing board” he tweeted, but he didn’t quite stop there.
Indeed as the magnitude of the defeat became clearer, Trump seemed to become increasingly agitated and irate.
“We can’t let this happen. We should march on Washington and stop this travesty. Our nation is totally divided!” he tweeted, before going as far to seemingly call for the people of the United States (the Republican voters anyway) to start a revolution and remove Obama by force.
To put all of Trump’s tirade into this article would make it longer then it is worth and besides the fiery businessmen has since deleted a number of the more colourful (and completely incorrect) tweets but needless to say his rant has drawn some pretty severe criticism.
Newscaster Brian Williams for one was overly critical of Trump and his Twitter antics, saying he had “driven well past the last exit to relevance and veered into something closer to irresponsible.” A metaphor that big Donald didn’t appreciate.
Needless to say Trump took to Twitter again to launch his stinging rebuke, saying Williams “knows that I think his newscast has become totally boring so he took a shot at me last night.” Before adding: “Wouldn’t you love to have my ratings?”
Despite being a registered Democrat up until 2004 Trump has been consistently and outwardly vocal of his dislike for Obama since the former Illionis senator swept to the presidential office in 2008. Most famously of all calling for Obama to release his birth records to prove that he was born in the United States at all.
