Frontman Ian McCulloch damned his band’s 2009 album The Fountain with faint praise by callling it, “The best one we’ve made, apart from Ocean Rain”. Let’s face it, the godfathers of gloom rock will never top their 1984 master-piece, which is why they’re touring it yet again.
