Police in Freeland, Pennsylvania, posted a photo of the 35-year-old wanted criminal Anthony Lescowitch on their Facebook account, hoping to find out where he was. However, they had no idea that their idea would work so well.

Less than two hours later, Mr Lescowitch reposted the photo, and poked fun at the police for not being able to find him, the Wilkes-Barre Times Leader reported.

However, the police were too clever for him, and posed as an attractive woman, asking him through a Facebook message to meet up for a drink. Although he originally declined the bevvy-date, the cheeky criminal eventually agreed to go for a cigarette with the fictional woman and was arrested immediately at the spot where they were meant to meet.

After police had made the arrest, they posted below the Facebook wanted poster: “Captured!!!! Shares our status on Facebook about himself, captured 45 minutes later.”

Lescowich will appear in court on January 29 on charges of assault, reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. We’re guessing he won’t be updating his status about that.
