One of Britt Lapthorne’s fellow backpackers might have information about the night of her disappearance, a Croatian newspaper has reported.

Lapthorne disappeared in the early hours of September 18 and her badly decomposed body was found about two weeks later, not far from the Dubrovnik nightclub where she was last seen.

Croatian daily newspaper Slobodna Dalmacija has reported it received an anonymous email with new photos of Lapthorne claimed to have been taken 13 hours before the 21-year-old disappeared.

The email claimed the photos were taken by Polish student Dominic Dabroweicki.

It also stated that Lapthorne spent the evening of her disappearance with Dabroweicki, the Croatian newspaper reported.

Lapthorne’s brother Darren told ABC Radio he had contacted Dabroweicki after his sister disappeared.

“He was the first person I messaged and I got a very quick response from him,” Mr Lapthorne said.

“He basically just told me what happened that night, what he remembered, he said that he couldn’t remember much because he was so intoxicated. He couldn’t remember a thing.”

Mr Lapthorne and his father Dale will return to Melbourne with Lapthorne’s body on Sunday night.

The body will be delivered to the Victorian coroner for a second post-mortem examination.
