Officers received the call about a domestic disturbance at 2am CDT (8am UK time) on Sunday morning.
Sergeant Mike Shurley told KTRE: “The argument allegedly started because a female put a catfish in her sister-in-law’s face.
“An argument then ensued between the woman and her brother, which turned physical. According to the brother, his sister slapped his wife in the face with the fish, and he told her to leave, and eventually she did.”
The sister-in-law claimed that the brother had been beating his wife. The brother claimed that if his wife had any injuries they came from trying to break up the brawl.
At this stage, nobody has been arrested. Shurley says the case has been forwarded to the Criminal Investigation Department because there were no witnesses present and the three participants gave conflicting statements to the police.
