The neighbourhood fight on Oak St, in Gympie, got so out of hand that some of those injured were said to have suffered gashes after being attacked with machetes.
“Through our investigations so far we think there were seven people in total fighting,” said Detective Sergeant Davey to The Courier Mail.
“It eventuated over a cat,” he said, before going on to explain that two households were fighting against one household.
“One group came armed with machetes, hammers and a steering wheel lock.”
Two men and a woman have been released from hospital already, while the other two men, with serious injuries, were taken to Nambour Hospital.
The local police are investigating the incident.
