The boy was allegedly playing with a rifle that he’d been given as a birthday present when he accidentally shot and killed his younger sister, while their mother was outside.
The shooting happened on Tuesday, according to Cumberland County police, after which the girl was rushed to hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Cumberland County Coroner Gary White identified the girl as Caroline Starks and said the children’s mother was cleaning the house at the time and had stepped outside onto the porch.
“She said no more than three minutes had went by and she actually heard the rifle go off. She ran back in and found the little girl,” White told WKYT news.
White has said that the whole thing was just a “crazy accident”, and he’s certainly right about the crazy part.
America is supposed to be the leader of the free western world, the main industrial super power that we have all been brought up to believe is the most advanced country on earth.
Yet, America is home to a company called Crickett, who produce rifles and other firearms designed SPECIFICALLY for children. They have a tab on their website, which shows images of kids firing guns and even little girls holding bright pink rifles.
They market it as ‘My First Rifle’…

What possible use could a child have for a gun? What the hell is wrong with these people!?
The 2nd amendment is a hangover from the 18th century, a time when the United States was in its infancy, had no standing army and was at war with the greatest nation on Earth at the time – England.
However in 2013, America has one of the largest standing armies in the whole world, spends literally billions of dollars a year on defence, more than the next eight highest spending countries combined and is fighting two foreign wars already.
I guess what I’m saying is that the second amendment is irrelevant now and has been for well over a century.
If the 20th century was the ‘American Century’ you had better believe that the 21st won’t be.
