Writing on the official club website, the West London club stated that ‘having consulted with the Met Poilce, Hammersmith and Fulham Council and other authorities, we know the emergency services would have been as professional as ever, but we would not want in any way to divert important resources by holding an additional, non ticketed event on the streets of London.’
The club who face Arsenal in the FA Cup final at Wembley on Saturday, will wear black armbands, as a mark of respect to the victims in Manchester.
Along with Manchester United and Manchester City, Chelsea are also making a donation to a fund supporting victims over the attack in Manchester.
Aberdeen and Celtic, who contest the Scottish Cup Final at Hampden Park on Saturday have also announced that they too will hold no victory parade following the events in Manchester.
