Miss Reichert, who claims she is 32 but according to police records is really 40, supposedly spent 20 minutes alone with Prince Harry at a party she was selected to attend along with 10 other “really pretty girls.”
Soon after her statement was released she was arrested for bouncing cheques in the amount of £13,000. This charge led to her jail time in the Harrison County jail, a prison with a notoriously poor reputation.
She announced yesterday: “I believe the British secret service or whoever protects the royals have something to do with the situation.”
Miss Reichert works as a beautician and described the prince as a “gentleman,” in addition to saying that the kiss they had was “not romantic” and just “fun.”
The two allegedly spoke about her childhood in Britain before it progressed to a “drunken fumble”. Speaking to People magazine, Miss Reichert said: “I’m not going to pass an opportunity to party with Prince Harry. Harry was already undressed [when I arrived]. It was crazy, he looked actually delirious.”
“There was a pool table and he was playing air guitar with pool sticks. We kissed for 15 to 20 minutes. I am sure someone stumbled in as there were people going in and out of rooms all the time. We kissed again and he said ‘that was great’.”
The royal aides present at the party denied her statements, calling them “completely untrue.” They went on to say that Miss Reichert was not even a guest at the party that night.
Following her interview that was published on August 24 she was detained and arrested at San Diego airport for supposedly writing “rubber” cheques amounting to £13,000.
Her lawyer, Donald Rafferty, stated that the handling of her case was excessive. Mr Rafferty said: “She became very high-profile very quickly because of an interview she gave that had an impact.
“I am not convinced that Mississippi authorities were the ones necessarily stirring [things], but something was. She is disappointed and very upset over the way this is going down. She has several legitimate defences.”
Mr Rafferty went on to say that there was no need to jail Miss Reichert and that they could have let her go on bail rather than incarcerate her.
Miss Reichert denies the allegations that date to 2003, stating the cheques pertained to an unsuccessful business investment.
Writing cheques that end up bouncing is considered a criminal offense in certain states in the US. In Mississippi the act is taken very seriously and carry up to five years of jail time.
Harrison County court officials confirmed that she was arrested because of a “felony bad cheque” charge. The Mississippi attorney general declined to comment saying: “It is an open case and it would inappropriate for us to comment.”
The Las Vegas trip in August brought speculation about Prince Harry’s security entourage who were unable to step in and stop any pictures from being taken.
