The maps app will offer 2D, 3D and street view options, but the real draw to the Google maps will be its reliability after Apple’s maps app launched laden with glitches and mistakes earlier this year.
There are differences between Google’s iPhone app and its Android equivalent, but project manager Kai Hansen has said it is the intention to unify the two apps over time so that the specifics of the options on both platforms are the same.
