The hacker, who goes by the online moniker Guccifer gained access to emails, photos, private telephone numbers and addresses of Bush family members and friends.
Amongst the haul of personal information there were apparently unfinished self-portraits of a grey haired man, standing in the shower. Another portrait was found of him with his legs half covered by bath water.
The photos were plastered onto the Smoking Gun website, along with the hacker’s moniker Guccifer.
Secret Service spokesman George Ogilvie said that while the agency were looking into the hacking they wouldn’t give any further information.
Guccifer claims to be a veteran hacker who has been tracked by the government for many years.
