However, Burano, an island in the northern part of the Venetian lagoon, is very different in appearance and atmosphere and adds some variety to a Venetian holiday. I just loved the colour and history of the island and the stories I felt these little cottages could tell…”
Runner-up:
Cotswold Way, Somerset
Orlagh McAuley from Bath
What’s the Story?
This photo was taken at the foothills of the Cotswold Way from Weston just outside of Bath in Somerset. The mist was slowly clearing from the field but I just managed to catch it before the early morning sun burnt it off. I just loved the morning light and the deep shadows in the wintry sunshine.
