Tinie Tempah, Everything Everything and Plan B have all been nominated for Ivor Novello awards in the shortlist, published today.

The Ivor Novello awards celebrate excellence in British and Irish songwriting and this year Everything Everything and Plan B are dominating the nominations.

Indie-electro band Everything Everything are on the shortlist in the best song category for the single MY KZ, UR BF which reached 14 in the UK chart. Their album Man Alive was shortlisted for the album award.

Plan B received an album award nomination for The Defamation of Strickland Banks while his single She Said is up for the Music most performed work prize.

In the best contemporary song category are rapper Tinie Tempah with Pass Out, The xx with Islands and singer-songwriter Katie B with Katy on a Mission.

For best song Everything Everything are up against Foals’ Spanish Sahara and Villagers’ Becoming a Jackal.

Bombay Bicycle Club’s Flaws is also in the best album category.

Ivor Novello wards will also be handed out in the best original video game score category, first introduced last year.

The Ivor Novello awards will take place at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on May 19.
