The message has remained undeleted on his account, which has 1.7 million followers, despite a tabloid furore.

The comment after the latest revelations that “opportunistic predator” and former BBC presenter Stuart Hall pleaded guilty to having abused a series of women in the 1970s.

Peter Saunders of the National Associaitons for People Abused in Childhood told the Daily Star “I don’t think he realises the seriousness of the issue he is making fun of.

“If Stuart Hall or somebody of his ilk had got his hands on one of Jeremy Clarkson’s relatives, he might think twice.”
