A jury in the US state were shown video evidence yesterday showing Colleps indulging in various sex sessions with four of her male pupils at the same time, all of whom were over the age of 18.

The English teacher altogether had sex with five of her students at various times and is being charged with under a law which prohibits improper relationships between an educator and student. Or in this case, students. Quite a lot of them, simultaneously.

She could face up to 20 years in prison as well as a fine of $10,000 for each of the charges of an ‘improper relationship’ – so, up to $50,000.

The inappropriate relationships began in April 2011 when the teacher texted a student asking about a baseball game. The texts were exchanged back and forth and became explicit over time, including naked photos and video.

After they started a sexual relationship at the Texas educator’s home other pupils were invited to join in and one student filmed the incident.

Colleps was suspended from her job at Kennedale High School near Fort Worth when rumours emerged in May 2011 and then quit her job.

The teacher’s husband, a military man often stationed away from home has defended his wife’s actions in court, saying “I hope you will not pass judgment on her because you don’t have all the facts or details according to this situation,”

“I want you to know I love my wife. I have loved my wife since I laid eyes on her 11 years ago. I have always supported my wife and will continue to support her through this entire ordeal.”
