Kate Middleton is already wearing Princess Diana’s engagement ring, now rumours are flying that she’s chosen the late Princess of Wales’ favourite designer Bruce Oldfield to design her wedding dress.
Middleton her mother, Carole and sister Pippa were reportedly spotted meeting Mr Oldfield at his boutique in Knightsbridge, central London.
The 60-year-old designer became Princess Diana’s favourite and has dressed such celebs and international royalty as Catherine Zeta Jones Jerry Hall and Queen Rania of Jordan during his 35 year career.
Samantha Cameron and Jemima Khan were both married in Oldfield creations.
Other British designers believed to have been in the running for the job included Phillipa Lepley, Amanda Wakeley, Dame Vivienne Westwood and Daniella Issa Helayel.
Details of Kate Middleton’s dress will not be released before the wedding and no-one will know for sure until Kate steps out of the Rolls Royce in front of Westminster Abbey on April 29 but Oldfield is renowned for his elegant, low cut numbers.
Though a wedding dress for Middleton wouldn’t want to be too low cut as traditionally royal wedding dresses tend to be real mummy-pleasers.
Meanwhile, Prince William and Kate Middleton will ask their wedding guests to make donations to charity instead of giving traditional wedding presents. (Aww, aren’t they lovely!)
The guest list is still being finalised, but one person expecting to be snubbed is, you guessed it, old toe-sucker herself, Fergie.
