Katie Price has announced her split from Alex Reid, ending a showbiz marriage probably doomed from the start, citing Alex Reid’s “difficult behaviour” as one of the reasons for the split.
Only 11 months after tying the knot in Las Vegas – where Reid was celebrating his Celebrity Big Brother win – Katie Price has called the marriage a day. According to the glamour model – otherwise known as Jordan – cage-fighter Alex Reid has changed, becoming strangely obsessed with fame.
And there we were, thinking they hated the publicity…

In a statement last night, Price said:
“Alex and I have had a number of difficulties over the past few months.
“I accept that these were in part caused by my marrying too quickly – we all make mistakes and this was one.”
However, according to Katie Price, the split was slightly more Alex’s fault than hers.
“Alex changed from the man I fell in love with and some of his behaviour became difficult for me to understand and caused issues,” she said.
Katie Price went on to say that the couple had tried to sort out their differences but “the issues between us are too deep rooted”.
The final straw came when Alex Reid was pictured posing in a gym with Katie’s son, Junior. The glamour model has tried to shield her children from the media spotlight and said she felt “let down”.
“I had hoped that Alex and I could remain friends but I am not sure if that is possible given events since last Sunday when we were on the verge of releasing a statement,” Katie Price said.
Alex Reid’s side of the story will no doubt emerge soon and The Sun has already quoted him as saying that he was upset by his wife’s friendship with boxer Amir Khan.
